TVA Publications maintains status as major player in Canada’s magazine market and #1 in French magazines

Several flagship brands register strong growth

 

Montreal, October 21, 2020 ‑ With 8.3 million readers across all platforms, TVA Publishing has held its status as a key influencer in the Canadian magazine market and strengthened its position as Canada's top publisher of French‑language magazines with cross‑platform readership increases for all of its French periodicals. Readership among adults aged 18‑34 rose significantly, with 21% growth in both the print and cross‑platform numbers.

Lifestyle magazines inspire 6.3 million readers across Canada

With 6.3 million cross‑platform readers from sea to sea, TVA Publications’ lifestyle magazines – represented by the Canadian Living, Good Times, Bel Âge and Coup de pouce brands – maintained their popularity with Canadians.

 

The indispensable lifestyle mag Canadian Living reached more than 4 million readers on all platforms and its digital readership grew by an impressive 44%. With nearly 1.3 million readers in print alone, Coup de pouce was the most‑read paid‑circulation magazine on the market. Its readership was up substantially, driven by a 37% surge in digital readership.

 

Decorating inspiration: Style at Home and Les idées de ma Maison remain the favourites

Style at Home and Les idées de ma Maison were the preferred home decorating destinations in the country, with 2.9 million cross‑platform readers, a 6% increase.

 

Style at Home remained a dominant title in Canada, reaching nearly 2.3 million home decorating enthusiasts and occupying the #1 position in the decorating category among women aged 18+, 18‑34 and 25‑54, in both print and cross‑platform. In Quebec, Les idées de ma maison was the standard‑setter in home decoration with 734,000 cross‑platform readers.

 

Clin d’œil lengthens its lead in the fashion category in Quebec

Clin d'œil magazine posted substantial increases of 18% in cross‑platform readership and 15% in print readership to retain its position as THE authority for fashionistas.

 

Entertainment news: Quebec readers keen on popular culture

Entertainment news is ever popular with Quebecers and they turn to TVA Publications’ stable of celebrity magazines to stay connected to the showbiz scene. In an indication of the strength of the interest, 7jours.ca logged more than 4 million page views per month.

 

CAA Québec the most‑read magazine in Quebec

The always useful publication CAA Québec maintained its momentum with increases in both cross‑platform and print readership, holding its position as the most widely read magazine on the market, with more than 2 million readers on all platforms combined.
